Pain Killers Are Killing My Brain, Oh My!
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010Lately, I’m sleeping sound for 12 hours at night, napping for a couple hours during the day, and slow-witted for most of what’s left. My nerve-pain medications have always caused this sort of thing, but layering-on an opioid pain-killer and an opioid potentiator just makes it worse. I’m lucky if I can get a single productive thing accomplished in a day.

After shooting this, we went to dinner at a nearby restaurant. But the beach was so nice that we came back, and found the playground… *sigh*
RIP: Sam Roweis
Wednesday, January 13th, 2010It’s reported that NYU professor Sam Roweis jumped to his death last night.
From an outsider’s perspective, I don’t think anybody saw this coming. I don’t wish to be insensitive, but I’m struck that even his death makes a point about machine learning…
Sam leaves behind a wife and newborn twins, and my heart goes out to them.
