I just wanted to take a moment and explain the recent addition of Google Ads to this site. This site is my personal web presence and blog; it is not intended to be a commercial effort. I pay for the supporting infrastructure out of my own pocket and do so gladly. However, I wanted to experiment with the Google advertising platform and become more familiar with the state of web advertising. I also recognize that Google provides some interesting web analytics as part of their AdSense platform, which I find amusing and occasionally useful.
That said, if there is any income from the Google ads then it will be donated to one or more of the charities in my Endorsements blogroll. (The first donation will go to the Internet Society. If there is significant income, which is unlikely, then I’ll split it up amongst the others, too.)
