I’m Offering Google Wave Invitations in Exchange for Poetry

I have a number of Google Wave Invitations available, more than I know what to do with.  Since it seems to be the trendy thing to do, I’m offering one to the first 10 people that send me a request…  But there is a cost!  You have to provide an original rhyme, poem, haiku, or any random collection of words that just feel good together (hereafter referred to liberally as "poetry").  I’m not picky, I just want to see that you’re opening your creative mind and allowing words to flow forth.

My preference is that you provide your poetry as a comment to this blog post.  (For those of you reading this via Facebook or other forums, you may not even be aware of this fact but my blog is at http://www.queuefull.net/~bensons/.)  But if you would prefer to email, tweet, IM, or communicate in any other form, then I will accept your poetry submission and post it as a blog comment on your behalf, keeping your identity anonymous.

There is no set time limit for this offer, although if nobody responds I shall likely declare this contest a failure and move on with my life.  But for now, I have hope — and if this is a success then I may follow up with even better contests for even cooler prizes.

Let the "poetry" begin!

  • Another poem, which I confess to be AWESOME, was sent to me privately via Facebook.

Maximum queuing delay is clouding my mind
To seek Walden or Thoreau takes too way much time
Yet life in the fast lane is life left behind
Pray tell, how does a wave help express the sublime?
  • I received the following from my sister, Lili, who said it was part of a song she's writing:

They're doing it for the kids
Because the right inspiration is so hard to find...
And to really understand they'd have to lose your minds
So, they're doing it for the kids

She demanded that I "PAY UP!", so I'd better take her seriously even if she is my little sister...
